1. The Scriptures
We believe the Bible, both Old and the New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts and the final rule of faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16,17; II Peter 1:19-21). For all intents and purposes, the authorized King James Version of the Holy Scripture shall be used.
2. The Godhead
We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead; one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; I John 5:7; II Corinthians 13:14).
3. Jesus Christ
We believe in the absolute Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1); in His virgin birth (Matt.1:18); His perfect humanity (John 1:14); His vicarious death through the shedding of His blood for the remission of sins (II Corinthians 5:21; Colossians.1:14); His bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and Advocate; in “that blessed hope,” the personal, imminent, pre-tribulational, pre-millenial coming of our Lord in the air for His saints (I Thess.4:13-18); in the personal, visible and glorious return of Christ to the earth with His saints (Rev. 1:7).We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, equal with the Father and the Son and of the same substance and nature. His work includes conviction of sin, regeneration of sinners, and indwelling of the believer (John 14:16-26; 16:8-11; Romans.8:16; Eph. 1:13; I John 4:13).
4. Satan
We believe in the distinct person of Satan, that he is Lucifer the fallen angel, prince and power of darkness, and is destined to eternal judgment in the Lake of Fire (Matthew 4:1-3; I Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10; Matthew 25:41; Isaiah 14:12-14).
5. Salvation
We believe every individual must repent of his sin and be born again to enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:7). Salvation is by God’s grace and not of works (Eph. 2:8,9; Rom. 10:9,10; Titus 3:5). We believe in the eternal security of the believer (John 10:27-29; Rom. 8:38,39; Philip.1:6; John 5:13)
6. Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God; he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and all human beings are born with a human, sinful nature and are totally depraved (Romans 3:23; Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 53:6; Psalm 51:5) and are in need of salvation from condemnation (John 3:18,19).
7. The Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost (Revelation 20:12-15; Matthew 25:46; John 3:36; John 11:25,26).
8. The Church
We believe in the church, a living, spiritual body in which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that a local church is a congregation of born-again believers. Its purpose and practices are described in God’s Word. It has absolute right of self-government directed by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:41,42; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22,23).
9. The Ordinances
We believe that there are two church ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of a believer, in water, who has been examined by the pastor and/or Fellowship of Deacons. It is properly called “Believer’s Baptism.” (Romans 6:3-5). The Lord’s Supper is for believers only and is the commemoration of our Lord’s death “till He come” (I Cor. 11:23-32; Acts 8:26-40; Matthew 3:16).
